COMPACT — Pulsed Compression II (PCR II): Advancing Ethylene Production from Methane

Encontech’s pulsed compression technology revolutionizes ethylene production, saving energy and reducing CO2 emissions by using adiabatic compression for methane cracking. The project, in collaboration with Shell, Dow, and the University of Twente, aimed to produce ethylene from methane and assess its industrial feasibility. With the Energy Innovation NL Subsidy (Top Sector Energy) from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, this project made significant strides in cleaner carbon sources and localized liquid fuel production near remote gas fields.
